CHAMBRE FASHION: Elizaveta Porodina
This week the focus is on the mesmerizing work of photographer Elizaveta Porodina.
Again, choosing just a few images is very difficult and I always invite you to go search more on her body of work.
Just by looking at these photographs you’re immediately transported into a different dimension, a dream-like state where time and space just dissolve. The painterly quality of the images carry a sense of mistery, darkness, romance and surrealist nostalgia all balanced in a very poetic way. The characters that inhabit the world in Porodina’s pictures are the ones you may find in dreams which can suddenly turn into nightmares, or the other way around.
The first couple of pictures taken from Numéro Netherlands show the beautiful Alton Mason, wearing a Celine embroidered cape and Cartier jewels, is depicted like a regal, god-like figure from an ancient epic tale.
In the black and white photos selected from another cover shoot for Numéro Netherlands, the sharp beauty of Maggie Maurer, embodies a perfectly glamourous black widow-esque femme fatale from a noir movie, wearing a shiny black latex top paired with a black Armani Privé dress and cap.
The delicate actress Dongyu Zhou graces the cover editorial for the July issue of Vogue China. A simply colorful, vivid and vibrant daydream. And as if it couldn’t get more beautiful than that, it’s really mind-blowing that these images were taken between Munich and Shanghai via Zoom due to Covid19 lockdown limitations all over the world, proving that true creativity always finds a way.
We do not own the rights of any of the pictures. All the rights go to the authors of the pictures.
